Player Ratings | Bayern Munich 2-1 RB Leipzig

Bayern Munich looked to end their three-game winless run in a tough match-up against RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena. Leverkusen’s lead will be in the double digits if Bayern fails to win.

The first half started off brightly when Harry Kane missed a clear cut chance as his header somehow hit the post. However, after that the game went down hill, scrappy fouls and overall both teams not playing at their highest level.

In the second half, both sides improved with Leipzig have the better chances before Harry Kane gave Bayern the lead. It looked as if Bayern would see the game out after Manuel Neuer made several good saves to keep out Benjamin Seško but the Slovenian would finally get his goal in the 70th minute. Bayern would then get an unlikely winner in the 91st minute from Kane.

Bayern reduce the gap to Leverkusen once again to eight points.

Bayern Munich:

Manuel Neuer – 7 – Made several key saves to keep out Seško and without him, Leipzig could have potentially run away with the game.

Joshua Kimmich – 5

Eric Dier – 5

Matthjis de Ligt – 5

Raphaël Guerreiro – 5

Aleksander Pavlovic – 6

Leon Goretzka – 4 – A poor game from the midfielder once again, it is clear that he is just not compatible with the system that Thomas Tuchel deploys and playing next to a midfielder who is not defensive minded is detrimenalt to his game.

Leroy Sané – 5

Thomas Müller – 5

Jamal Musiala – 7

Harry Kane – 8 – Two goals from the Englishman. As we approach the final quarter of his first season in the Bundesliga, it is clear that Kane has saved Bayern several times this season from embarrassment. This game being one of them.

Others: Mathys Tel (5), Konrad Laimer (5), Kim Min-Jae (-), Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (-)

RB Leipzig:

Janis Blaswich – 6

Benjamin Henrichs – 5

Mohamed Simakan – 5

Willi Orban – 5

David Raum – 6

Amadou Haidara – 5

Xaver Schlager – 5

Dani Olmo – 5

Xavi Simons – 6

Benjamin Seško – 6 – The 20 year old is still raw but his finishing is becoming questionable. Similar to the Real Madrid game last week, Seško missed several key chances for Leipzig which would have swung the game in their favour but several times his finishing let him down. He comes away from the game with one goal but could have had a hat-trick.

Loïs Openda – 6

Others: Yussuf Poulsen (5), Kevin Kampl (5), Eljif Elmas (-), Christoph Baumgartner (-), Castello Lukeba (-)
