Lille’s growing list of absentees worsens: 7 players unavailable for Toulouse

According to L’Équipe, Lille’s growing list of absentees is worsening, with 7 players declared unavailable to play in their upcoming Ligue 1 clash against Toulouse on Sunday. Despite their mounting list of absentees, Lille will be hoping to carry their momentum from Europe into domestic action, after securing their place in the last 16 of the Europa Conference League.

Les Dogues are set to have depleted squad available for their match against Les Violets on Sunday with a handful of players declared unavailable. The group of players made who are absent is headed up by club captain Benjamin André (33), who has been suspended after receiving too many yellow cards.

The other 6 players who are unavailable for the clash against Toulouse include: Rémy Cabella (33) with a calf injury; Tiago Morais (20) with a muscle injury; Rafael Fernandes (21) with a quadriceps injury; Samuel Umtiti (30) with a knee injury; Andrej Ilic (23) and Ivan Cavaleiro (30).

Diakité returns

The one positive piece of team news for Lille is the return of Bafodé Diakité (23). The versatile defender is available after undergoing shoulder surgery and returning to full collective team training last week.
