Former Inter Milan goalkeeper Francesco Toldo insists they’re capable of upsetting Manchester City in the Champions League final on Saturday.
Inter go to Istanbul as outsiders.
But Toldo told Radio Anch’io Sport: “Manchester City-Inter? We all saw the City match against Real, it impressed us. It looked like the Guardiola’s Barcelona: phrasing, ball possession, initiatives.
“The variable is Inter: they are not a normal team, they are unpredictable. Among the teams that could face City, the worst is Inter: they have the possibility of hurting in vertical, has muscles, in attack it is always on the spot and has also sorted out the defence.
“The criticisms Inzaghi has suffered have matured him, he was an elegant coach in not reacting instinctively, he treasured the criticisms and grew.
“For the express game, City are the favourites, but nothing to take away from Inter who deservedly reached the final. And then there is great synergy between the team and the public. I don’t think physical condition will be enough, the head rules the body. Both are getting ready, they have a week to go.
“I recommend not to get sent off during the match, it would be the end of their ball possession. They are games to play and to experience, which players will remember for a lifetime. The positive thing is that Inter have nothing to lose. Expectations are different.”
