As reported by L’Équipe, three clubs are vying for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba’s services with the Frenchman out of contract at the end of the season and now free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a new club.
Juventus, Real Madrid and PSG are all keen to convince Pogba to leave Manchester and not extend his current deal. The sports daily say that his former club, Juventus, is the move that’s least tempting to Pogba. Real Madrid, meanwhile, having been close to signing the player in 2019, are a less obvious destination that before with Pogba fan and coach Zinedine Zidane having left the club with other pieces of the squad needing to be handled first such as Kylian Mbappé’s potential arrival as well as the futures of others such as Luka Modrić.
PSG’s interest, having been keen on the player last summer, remains intact too. And the feeling is mutual between player and club. After a raft of shrewd free signings last summer, Pogba’s type of contractual situation is one PSG are looking to capitalise on generally. Having had positive feedback over Pogba’s thinking, PSG could act quickly over the impending 28-year-old free agent as they did with others in 2021.
