Hellas Verona coach Marco Baroni admits Bologna were the better team for their victory last night.
Bologna were impressive for their 2-0 win.
Baroni said: “From a technical point of view we made a lot of mistakes. At the start we were good at limiting a strong opponent like Bologna. In my opinion it was an aggressive Verona team, capable of reducing the technical gap.
“There were avoidable errors, as on the occasion of Bologna’s two goals. Honestly, I would like to see the first one again. There was probably a foul on the goalkeeper that was not noticed. I have to concentrate, however, on some mistakes that you cannot afford against a confident opponent.
“I repeat, however, that it was a good performance and that there are also positive things from which to start again. When we improve in making choices, we will have the opportunity to make the leap in quality. There were situations that the boys could have exploited better. I saw a territorial supremacy, there is parity in the shots on goal as well as the goalkeepers’ saves.
“Unfortunately, however, the result counts and we return home with a 2-0 over the big group. I told the boys that we have to start again immediately, by playing in this way we will be able to collect points in the next matches.”
