The futures of Fabian Ruiz and Piotr Zieliński are far from settled at Napoli, with the former heavily linked with a transfer to Real Madrid this summer.
According to Sky Italia journalist and a transfer market expert Luca Marchetti, Bologna’s Mattias Svanberg is one of the names associated with a summer move to Napoli in the event of the sales of Ruiz and Zieliński.
Speaking to Radio Marte, Marchetti explained that there had been no suggestions of negotiations between the two parties. But there are rumours of Napoli being interested in making a summer move for the Swedish international. He said:
“Svanberg? It is a name that goes around, to me, it does not appear that there is already a negotiation. It didn’t seem like such a hot track.”
Having played 35 games this season in Serie A, the 23-year-old has managed to rack up three goals and three assists for a side that remains at the bottom half of the table.
A regular for Siniša Mihajlović’s side, Svanberg could be a replacement for Ruiz, a potential replacement for Luka Modric at Real Madrid. Svanberg’s contract at Bologna runs until June 2023, making him a gettable option for the Naples-based club in the approaching summer transfer window.
