Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti admits they’re delighted with their start to the season.
Inter are top of the table with a 100 per cent record and are yet to concede a goal.
Zanetti said, “We are happy because important players have left, whom we have to thank for what they have done with our shirt, and there have arrived others with a great will to compete and do important things for our club.
“We won three out of three matches and we have shown that Inter, up to now, can be a competitive team for the Scudetto.
“Inzaghi’s renewal? It was not a choice dictated only by stability, but by his qualities. The renewal confirms that Simone Inzaghi is doing a huge job. With serenity and personality, he never had any doubts about his qualities and his plans for Inter. He continued on his path and we recognised his qualities by giving him this renewal, which he earned and deserved with the trophies and results.”
Om captain Lautaro Martinez, he added: “I looked for Lautaro myself, it makes me proud that he is captain of Inter and feels the same as me, identifying himself with pride in the club. He transmits everything that Interismo means, he improves year after year and will be able to grow a lot. I am of the opinion that a club like Inter must have great players and that it is just as normal to receive offers. At that point the player decides whether to become a flag or leave.”
