Wesley Fofana has completed his £75m move from Leicester City to Chelsea.
The Frenchman was ecstatic after he completed the move on Wednesday afternoon.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Fofana said: “The two last days have been really big days for me and I’m very happy. I trained this morning with the team and it’s a dream for me. I’m very excited to start playing games for the fans and the club.
“I’m here to win trophies – the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, everything. I came here to win and the club is built to win trophies so I’m here to continue that.”
Fofana has signed a seven-year deal with the club. The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that his wages will be £200,000-per-week.
That means he will earn a cool £72.8m million over the course of his stint at Chelsea. Not bad.
But how does his wages compare to the world’s highest-paid centre-backs?
Fbref, using data from Capology, recently named the 100 highest-paid players in the world.
After Fofana’s move, 18 centre-backs are now in the top 100 and you can view how much they earn below…
