Wayne Rooney tells Rashford to ‘get his head out of his a**e’ and do better

Wayne Rooney has urged Marcus Rashford to ‘pull his head out of his a**e’ and attempt to break his Manchester United scoring record.

Rashford was rising through the ranks at Old Trafford as Rooney’s tenure drew to an end, and following an excellent start to his career, many predicted the Manchester-born teenager would exceed the club’s all-time scoring record.

Rooney now holds that distinction, having scored 253 goals throughout his stint with the Red Devils.

Rashford, on the other hand, has struggled mightily this season, scoring only five goals in 26 appearances in all competitions.

His frustrations recently came to a head during United’s Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid, during which he battled with fans while attempting to board the team coach.

“To get the record and be Manchester United’s highest goal scorer, it is f***ing massive,” Rooney said at a black-tie event over the weekend, as reported by The Sun.

“But I hope the record is broken. What I hope is that Marcus Rashford f***ing gets his head out of his a**e and goes and breaks that record. He’s a Manchester lad.”

Rashford is reportedly contemplating his future at the club ahead of a probable summer departure, which Rooney feels would be a massive mistake for the youngster.
