As the tension builds towards Atletico Madrid’s quarter-final second leg in the Champions League, Manchester City will be left with no illusions about the environment they are walking into.
Los Colchoneros are looking to add a historic night to their collection at the Wanda Metropolitano. Their task is uphill however. After going down 1-0 in Manchester to Pep Guardiola’s machine-like City side.

As covered by Marca, the reception for both teams was impressive. Everything that manager Diego Simeone could have wished for ahead of the tie, as they hope to make then match a hostile experience for Guardiola and his team.
Atletico lost at the weekend against relegation strugglers Mallorca, although there was a clear sense that the focus was elsewhere in that match.
Manchester City on the other hand played out an intense 2-2 draw with Liverpool, which Simeone will hope took something out of their legs.
If the previous night’s action was anything to go by, it should be a fantastic occasion.
