Villarreal midfielder Vicente Iborra says they need to focus on finishing the season with a flourish.
Iborra says the attitude must be they consider every game as a final, despite reaching the Champions League final eight.
He said, “The only way we can continue improving is by working hard. We need to adapt to games like this and opponents from the lower part of the table, who we’re finding it hard to play against. Once more, we have chances to get points from a team like that away from home. We need to take a step forward away from home. We need to get three points away from home.
“We need to go into the matches humbly, full of respect for our opposition. From there, we need to adapt to the profile of each opponent. I don’t know what’s happening to us. We have resources to beat opponents like this, but we’re choking in matches like that. The time to turn things around is now, in the decisive stage of the season. The squad is capable and works hard every day.
“It’s the perfect moment to turn things around and win away from home to enter in Europe. It won’t be easy, because every team has a lot to play for, but we do too. It will be hard, but we’re capable.
“We have to value what LaLiga means, that it can help you play in Europe the following year. We need to take a step forward. We want to play in Europe every year, be regulars there and be ambitious. We positively value what being in European competition means.”
