Villarreal coach Unai Emery has welcomed new signing Giovani Lo Celso.
The midfielder has arrived on-loan from Tottenham.
Emery said, “Giovani is a player I know, because I had him at PSG. At Betis, he was great and that helped him go to Tottenham. When the possibility of bringing him in came up, we did so because he’s a versatile player. With him, we will try and be better.”
Villarreal meet Real Betis on Sunday.
Emery also said: “Breaks always have consequences. Sometimes they’re positive, and sometimes they’re not. We’ve had a tough January, with a number of absentees. This time, it’s helped us get people back. It did feel quite long, but we’re grateful for it. We’re going into the game in perfect shape. We hope to perform well. Betis are the most in-form team in LaLiga. Pellegrini is doing the perfect job, managing the group and finding the right performance. It’s a tough challenge because they’re third with 40 points. The players know the importance of the match.”
