Villarreal coach Unai Emery admits Europe is up for grabs in the final weeks of the season.
Emery has underlined that the team will try and build on the good performance against Rayo Vallecano (1-5) this weekend, in a decisive match against Real Sociedad on Sunday.
“We have to continue with the momentum, we feel good. Tomorrow, we’re coming up against Real Sociedad, who are on a good run. It’s a big game, and that motivates me,” he said.
For the Basque head coach, the fight to get into Europe will be great: “The players are ready. It’s great to have something to play for at the end of the season. Playing in Europe next year is very important for both clubs.”
Finally, Emery called on the fans, as tomorrow will be the last match at the Estadio de la Cerámica before some building works that will take seven months: “We need to find reasons to be motivated and we need the fans. I’m sure it will be an emotional game for them, before they say farewell to their stadium for a while. If we can all be in the same place, we will play in Europe next season, and that would be a success.”
