Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has played down Liverpool’s hopes of completing a rare quadruple this season.
The Reds have already won the League Cup this season, and remain in the hunt for the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have worked their way back into the Premier League title race, and sit a point behind leaders Manchester City.
They are also in the Champions League semis, where they will take on Villarreal, with the FA Cup final, where they face Chelsea also on the schedule.
No club has ever managed to make a clean sweep of all trophies on offer in a single season, and van Dijk feels certainly it’s ‘impossible’, even though ‘anything can happen’.

“Nobody did the quadruple and there is a reason for it – because it is almost impossible to do,” Van Dijk said.
“All this talk about quadruple or Treble is from the outside world and could put extra pressure on us.
“It is something that everyone would dream about, to win every competition you participate in, but we will see what it brings.
“Anything can happen, with other teams as well.”
Liverpool’s hunt for three crucial Premier League points continues on Tuesday night when they host perennial rivals Manchester United.
