Valencia attacker Bryan Gil insists they can learn from their thrashing by Barcelona.
VCF lost 4-1, with on-loan Tottenham winger Gil saying positives can be taken from the second-half.
He said, “It’s a tough day. In the first half we conceded three goals, and that’s difficult to overcome, but in the second half we went for it with everything, and we wanted to win the game. They scored too soon after our goal. When you concede three goals in the first half it’s difficult to come back from.
“I think that from the beginning we had the mentality of going for the win, but when you concede three goals it seems that you haven’t given it your all. I don’t believe that; I think the result was too heavy to reflect our second half showing, but we will continue working.”
He continued: “You get out of this situation by being self-critical. We lost the match, but we came out in the second half with desire, motivation and intensity. That is what we are going to do until the end of the season.
“We have to pick ourselves up. Not in the game against Mallorca, but rather tomorrow. We have to work all week to prepare for that match.”
