Dominik Szoboszlai bailed Timo Werner out in epic fashion during RB Leipzig’s clash against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday afternoon.
The duo were in the starting lineup for the Bundesliga match at the Red Bull Arena.
The home side took an early lead through Willi Orban, who found the net in the sixth minute.
Werner really should have made it 2-0 just before the break.
The German forward was sent clear through on goal and only had Alexander Meyer to beat.
But, despite having all the time in the world to pick his spot, Werner dragged his shot wide of the post.

It was an easy chance that a striker of Werner’s calibre should have been burying with ease.
Fortunately for him, Szoboszlai made it 2-0 almost immediately after Werner’s missed chance.
The Hungarian midfielder, who is known for scoring screamers, took aim from 25 yards out and blasted his effort into the top corner.

What a hit.
Werner must have been the most relieved man in the stadium when Szoboszlai atoned for his error.
Leipzig went on to win the game 3-0.
Werner did not end the match on the scoresheet but he did play a massive role in Leipzig’s third goal, scored by Amadou Haidara in the 84th minute.
He once again went one vs one with Meyer but this time he decided to pass across goal to Haidara, who simply could not miss from just a few yards out.
Leipzig have had a difficult start to the season but they would have gained some confidence from their comfortable victory against Dortmund.
They have moved up to 10th having accrued eight points from their opening six games.
Dortmund, meanwhile, are four points better off in fourth.
Werner has scored four goals this season, including a hat-trick against Teutonia Ottensen in the DFB Pokal.
