The Insider – Rudy Galetti: Man Utd want Ramos; Chelsea contact Vlahovic; Real Betis target old boy duo

Manchester United is determined to push for Goncalo Ramos; Maddison and Tielemans, together again next season; Real Betis, a double shot can now be expected. Here are some of the main stories over the last few days of the transfer market from TribalFootball‘s transfer expert Rudy Galetti.

GONCALO RAMOS TOPS MANCHESTER UNITED LIST

Manchester United are once again protagonists in the Premier League, conquering the third place that allowed them to qualify for the next Champions League. A competition that’s very dear to Erik Ten Hag and that he would like to face with suitable players.

For this reason, during the summer, the Red Devils will revolutionize the squad, with many changes in all roles. In attack, for example, United are still pushing for Goncalo Ramos: the Benfica striker represents the main target for their attack, together with Victor Osimhen, Dusan Vlahovic and Harry Kane. The Red Devils, to convince the Portuguese club to let him go in the summer, are preparing a big proposal – greater than €100m, thus approaching the release clause of around €120m – similar to that found in Enzo Fernandez’s contract.

Obviously, the negotiation – given the overall cost of the deal – is not going to be that fast and for sure it will take long. In addition to Manchester United, also PSG are interested in Ramos, even if – to date – the French club seems to be more in the background, also considering the high price tag set by Benfica.

PREMIER LEAGUE CALLING FRATTESI

Undoubtedly, 2022-23 was the best season of his career. This is why Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi has attracted the interest of top clubs such as Inter, Napoli and several Premier League teams. The 7 goals scored this season – together with his excellent performances – allowed the Neroverdi to set the price at around 35/40 million euros, also leveraging on the long-term contract, which expires in June 2026.

In the summer, Davide Frattesi could therefore leave Sassuolo and make the definitive big leap in European football elite. Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea are monitoring the situation of the Italian midfielder, even if – to date – no concrete moves are expected, given that these clubs have other names as main targets.

Anyway, let’s also keep an eye on Roberto De Zerbi and his Brighton which, with the sales of Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo almost defined, would be thinking about Frattesi as a possible replacement. Going back to Serie A, Inter seem to be the most attentive club in his transfer race also considering Roberto Gagliardini’s farewell and, above all, the possible departure of Marcelo Brozovic. An attention on Frattesi, also confirmed by Beppe Marotta: “A very interesting young player.”

MADDISON & TIELEMANS TOGETHER AGAIN NEXT SEASON?

After the qualification for the next Champions League, Newcastle’s objective is to strengthen every role of their squad, starting from midfield. In recent weeks we have already talked about the situation of Maddison and Tielemans who, after Leicester’s relegation, could play together again next season.

The Magpies – after the attempt in January – are still working to sign James in the summer. The talks between Newcastle and Leicester are in progress, well underway, and the relegation to the Championship of the Foxes will speed up things. For his part, the English player – whose contract expires in 2024 – is ready to leave them at the end of the season.

The situation of Tielemans is slightly different: he played his last game with the Leicester shirt against West Ham and is now a free agent: the Belgian player – as reported – wants to be part of a technical project in which he can play a central role and only on this assumption Youri will decide his future.

Some clubs – in addition to Newcastle – are on his track: Arsenal, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and a couple of Italian teams are following with attention the midfielder. Probably, at the moment, Dortmund represents the most suitable opportunity for him, but Newcastle will try to work with commitment also on Tielemans affair.

CHELSEA CONSIDER VLAHOVIC FOR THE FUTURE

Chelsea, after the disastrous season just ended, are looking for a new striker this summer. Victor Osimhen remains the main target and they could offer more than 100 million euros for the Napoli player.

However, the president Aurelio De Laurentiis considers him non-transferable, and the Blues will probably have to shift their focus to the other names on the list, where there is Dusan Vlahovic. The chances that the Serbian striker will leave Juventus at the end of the season are increasingly growing, also due to the extra football situation of the Bianconeri.

Juventus – as told some months ago – have already set the price to let him go: around 80 million euros. At the moment, there have been no contacts between Chelsea and Juventus, but the English club could make a concrete move for Dusan soon, especially because Mauricio Pochettino considers Vlahovic the ideal striker for his tactical idea. On the contrary, Chelsea and his agent already had some contacts and the player likes the destination: for this reason, reaching an agreement on personal terms wouldn’t be a problem.

Despite the very positive situation on the Chelsea-Vlahovic axis, let’s keep an eye also on Bayern Munich, which have Vlahovic at the top of their list as well, together with Harry Kane: now – after winning the Bundesliga title at the last minute – they will speed up the striker issue.

REAL BETIS READY FOR A DOUBLE SHOT

Now certain of the 6th place in La Liga, Real Betis are already exploring some opportunities in the market, to strengthen the squad and to fight again for a Champions League position next season. That’s why Hector Bellerin and Dani Ceballos are the first names that could land in Seville in the coming weeks. Both, whose contracts expire in June, will soon become free agents and will be able to freely define their future.

With the Sporting CP right-back, Real Betis already reached an agreement in principle: after the contacts that have already been made for a few months, now it seems that only a few final steps are missing to arrive at the definitive white smoke.

For Hector, it would be a welcome return to Betis, after the 1-year loan in the 2021-22 season. With Ceballos, the talks with his agents are well underway and will continue in the next few weeks: there are some Italian and English clubs on the Real Madrid player’s tracks, but the feeling is that Dani prefers to return to “his home”, at Betis, the club where he was born and raised in football.
