Team news: Man United to miss FIVE players for Liverpool clash

Manchester United will miss five of their key stars when they play Liverpool in an English Premier League match on Tuesday night.

Edinson Cavani, Scott McTominay, Luke Shaw, and Raphael Varane all missed United’s previous two Premier League matches; last week’s defeat at Everton and Saturday’s victory over Norwich City.

In addition, Fred picked an injury against the Toffees and was not available against the Canaries at Old Trafford.

Speaking in the pre-match conference, coach Ralf Rangnich revealed there’s no good news on all the five as they play second-placed Liverpool.

“Rapha [Varane] didn’t train with the team. He was on the pitch with one of our rehab coaches,” said Rangnick. “But with regard to injured players, we have the same situation that we had in the last two games.”

There was some good news though as Bruno Fernandes, who was involved in an accident on his way to training on Monday morning escaped unhurt.

“The accident happened on the way to Carrington,” said the German. “But as far as I know, nobody was injured. He trained with the team and he was okay, and that’s why I think he will also be ok for tomorrow.”

United picked three crucial points against Norwich on Saturday to boost their hopes of playing Champions League football next season and will look to build on the victory.
