Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl says injured Romeo Lavia is yet to return to full team training.
The Saints are set to take on Bournemouth in the Premier League, a game that Lavia is very likely to miss.
The 18-year-old has not played since the 2-1 win over Chelsea in August, and the Saints have not won a game in his absence.
“He’s on a good way but not back in team training yet. I expect him by the end of the week to return to team training,” Hasenhuttl confirmed to reporters.
Lavia will be hoping to resume training in the coming days or week, get up to full match sharpness, and make his country’s World Cup squad for the tournament this winter.
The Belgian is one who national team head coach Roberto Martinez admires, but he will have to show he is back to his best ahead of the squad announcement for the tournament.
