Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was left delighted after their 2-0 Champions League win against Lazio.
Simeone saw Antoine Griezmann and Samuel Lino score for the win.
He later said: “We think only with what happened today, we found the goal immediately and they didn’t let us go in transition. I saw that we could do badly on the outside, in the second half we tried and with the second goal we closed the match.
“Draw against my son (Napoli striker Giovanni)? He wants it. Now he’s playing a bit less, but Napoli is a great team that had a great season last year. There is also Inter… Whoever we face will be strong, we must run, fight and play with humility.
“You can win in different ways, the players we have today require us to play like this. The new arrivals allow us to have more quality by taking advantage of everyone’s good play.”
On four Spanish teams winning their groups, Simeone also said: “I don’t think it’s happened for a few years. Real Sociedad is a great team, Barcelona is strong, we know Real Madrid. We took an extra step this year trying to increase the speed of the game.
“I live every day and I am happy where I am, I have a club that can still give more and needs results to grow and that is a stimulus. I want to create an even stronger club in Europe.”
