Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhailo Mudryk is looking forward to facing Real Madrid in tonight’s Champions League tie.
Mudryk has admitted his admiration for Real midfielder Luka Modric.
He said, “We have to assess all the information we receive. It’s true we’ve watched one or two Real Madrid games and analysed their tactics. We know Real Madrid’s strengths and weaknesses very well and we’ll try to take advantage of them. We know it’s going to be tough because it will be a very special night. Our aim to be play the best we can and achieve a good result”.
“Modrić is the heart and orchestrator of the team. He’s an incredibly powerful player and our opposition’s play relies very much on him. Both Luka and any of the other players are very strong indeed.”
Shakhtar coach Igor Jovicevic had time at La Fabrica, but insists: “My heart is not split. I belong here, in my heart and in my head. It’s emotional because I made my debut here but I am here to represent the biggest club in Ukraine and I’m going to bring the team to compete, believing that we have the weapons to win it.
“They slipped up against Osasuna, but (Carlo) Ancelotti’s already said that was an accident. You don’t see them slip up twice in a row very often.”
