Sevilla director José María Cruz says a return for Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial can happen.
While it’s been claimed Sevilla were happy to usher the Frenchman back to Old Trafford at the end of his six month loan, Cruz is offering a different take.
He said, “When he was starting to adapt to the coach, to his system, he suffered some injuries. He couldn’t have the continuity that he needed. He was very happy and thought it was a good opportunity for him.
“Injuries have been a problem for Martial.”
Cruz also said: “I think he has enjoyed playing with us. I imagine that Anthony Martial has discovered that Sevilla would be a good club to have a new opportunity.
“Some players can immediately adapt to the new team. We have experiences with the players that we brought in in the winter market. For example, Ivan Rakitic, Gary Medel and Stevan Jovetic, whom we had on loan, adapted quickly. Other players need more time. I remember Dani Alves, who is an excellent player. He needed a season and a half to be competitive.”
