Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is confident that he will be fit for the club’s Champions League final.
The winger was withdrawn in the first half of their FA Cup final against Chelsea which they won on post-match penalties and there were fears that the injury could rule him out of the tie against Real Madrid which comes in a fortnight.
When asked by AS whether he would be fit for the European final, he simply replied: “Of course.”
On his side, Klopp seemed unbothered by the player’s injury as he feels that he has the squad to compete even without one of his main players.
“Mo came and I had to make a decision. I could carry on, but I felt a little bit.’ So I took him off. We have the squad. I hope he will be fine,” he said.
The Reds have two Premier League games remaining on their roster against Southampton and Wolves – and it remains to be seen whether Salah will sit them out as Liverpool attempt to play catch-up to Manchester City in the final days of the title race.
The player will definitely want to play the games as he is just one goal above Spurs Son Heung-Min in the golden boot race.
Klopp is also hopeful about the fitness of defender Virgil van Dijk, who was taken off after 90 minutes after picking up his own injury with the club set to conduct further tests on the player.
