Napoli manager Rudi Garcia has taken full responsibility of the club’s loss to Fiorentina in the Serie A earlier today.
The Partenopei took a 3-1 loss against La Viola, who went level on points with Juventus inside the top four. Napoli meanwhile, dropped out of the top four and after some progress was made under Garcia, things seem to have lost momentum all over again.
Josip Brekalo opened the scoring for Fiorentina before Victor Osimhen equalised. But Fiorentina scored twice in the second, with goals coming from Jack Bonaventura and Nico Gonzalez.
After the game, Garcia spoke to DAZN (via TMW) and took responsibility of the defeat. The Frenchman admitted that they have missed out on a big chance to go further up the table.
“Even tonight I am responsible for this defeat, but I didn’t expect it. We missed a great opportunity to stay in 3rd place and dropped from the top four places. The objective is to win again starting from Verona, until we are able to win three in a row it will always be like this, but for Napoli it is not enough.”
Garcia’s position at the club isn’t under immediate threat but it is being assessed, considering the average start to the season and the next few games are likely to decide as to in which favour the pendullum can swing.
