Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly watched from Portugal as his Manchester United teammates were thrashed 4-1 at Manchester City on Sunday.
The Athletic reports due to being injured, Ronaldo traveled to Portugal – which left his United teammates surprised.
United players were expecting Ronaldo to attend the game, despite his injury.
Although the reason for the trip is not known, there are reports in the English press that it may be related to Ronaldo’s belief that he will be able to recover better and faster with the sun and temperatures in Portugal, which contrast with the weather in England.
