Cristiano Ronaldo took to social media to apologize to a fan after smashing his phone on Saturday evening.
A video emerged of the Portuguese appearing to break a fan’s phone as he left the pitch after his side’s 1-0 loss at Everton with the 37-year-old admitting that emotions took over him as he invited the fan for a game at Old Trafford.

“It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing. “Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient, and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game.
“I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair play and sportsmanship,” Ronaldo said.

The result damaged United’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League and came against an Everton side that had been one point above the relegation zone before kick-off.
They however have hopes in the race after Arsenal lost against Brighton too but Spurs winning at Aston Villa later in the day means they will have to pick maximum points in the remaining games.
