Jose Mourinho and Roma are growing in confidence when it comes to the pursuit of Paulo Dybala. Since leaving Juventus earlier this summer, La Joya has not managed to find a new club.
According to Corriere della Sera, Jose Mourinho had talks with Paulo Dybala over a phone call before Roma’s friendly game against Portimonense.
The report claims that the boss has recently tried to persuade the ex-Palermo star on multiple occasions. The former Manchester United manager wants La Joya to join hands with the Giallorossi this summer.
Currently a free agent, the 28-year-old has been on Roma’s wishlist for a long time. But they are not alone in the race, with clubs like Napoli, Milan, and Inter also showing strong interest in the Argentinian playmaker.
Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti has also spoken with Dybala about a potential transfer. But, as reported previously, they want complete control over the South American’s image rights, which appears to be expensive for Aurelio De Laurentiis’ side.
Roma will ask Dybala to evaluate his wage demands as they reportedly don’t want to force a domino effect, where every player at Roma could start asking for better pay if the club agrees to meet Dybala’s salary demands.
