Robert Lewandowski to start pre-season training with Bayern Munich on Tuesday

According to Sky Germany, Robert Lewandowski will start his pre-season training with Bayern Munich on Tuesday. This comes after speculation that the 33-year-old may go on strike in an attempt to force a move to Barcelona.

However, going on strike is against Lewandowski’s nature and professionalism. The Poland international still wants to join Barcelona but so far, the Catalan side are yet to submit an offer matching Bayern’s €50m-€55m valuation. Should Lewandowski go on strike, this also violates the labour laws in Germany and is therefore out of the question.

BILD speculates three options that Lewandowski could do to signal his intent to join Barcelona. Strike, which we know is in all likelihood impossible. Miss training due to family matters, similar to the situation that Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United find themselves in or finally, have a lazy body language when he turns up for training at Bayern’s Säbener Straße on Tuesday.

The problem that Bayern Munich find themselves in is that there’s no like-for-like replacement for Lewandowski on the current market. Kicker reported on Sunday evening that Bayern see Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane as a conceivable option but a transfer this summer but be financially impossible.
