REVEALED: Raiola and Alf-Inge met Man City officials in Manchester over Haaland deal

Manchester City have held more talks over plans for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

The English champions are strong favourites to land the brilliant Norwegian striker from Dortmund – ahead of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, says the Daily Star.

And they have edged closer to winning the race after a recent meeting in Manchester with Haaland’s representatives. That took place earlier this month and involved the player’s father and ex-City midfielder Alfe-Inge Haaland as well as super-agent Mino Raiola.

During the secret rendezvous, City presented the financial terms they are prepared to offer Haaland, 21. They are willing to pay him a weekly salary of £375,000, with lucrative bonuses and add-ons set to take that figure soaring towards £500,000. Interestingly, that basic wage is the same as City’s highest current earner Kevin De Bruyne pockets from the deal he agreed last season.

The Etihad hierarchy are hellbent on not breaking their pay structure for the signature of in-demand Haaland, who has a £63million buy-out clause at Dortmund that can be triggered this summer only.
