Real Madrid coach Ancelotti retains full board support

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti retains full support of the board.

Marca says Real have reaffirmed their satisfaction with manager Ancelotti after a wave of social media discontent from supporters following the club’s Copa del Rey exit. Los Blancos were beaten 1-0 away at Athletic Club in the quarter-finals of the competition as Alex Berenguer tucked home an 89th minute winner.

Real Madrid will now take no further part in the Copa del Rey and will now focus on LaLiga Santander, where they lead the way, and the Champions League when it returns later this month.

However, being dumped out of the cup was a real problem for much of the fanbase, who went from hailing Ancelotti as the messiah to wanting his head.

The Italian’s refusal to play Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale irked a section of the support, with the duo among the world’s best on their day and with physical issues elsewhere in attack.

It appears, however, that the Real Madrid hierarchy still have full trust in Ancelotti right now.
