Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was pleased with their victory over Real Betis.
Ancelotti is pleased with Real Madrid’s victory over Real Betis, especially since he was able to rotate his midfield and still come out on top.
With Los Blancos set to open their Champions League campaign against Celtic on Tuesday, the Italian opted to leave Toni Kroos out of the starting XI.
Real Madrid were able to bring home three points nonetheless, with Ancelotti praising the mentality of both the German and Luka Modric in accepting his decisions.
“After a game you have an idea but then you see the training sessions and it changes a bit,” said Ancelotti.
“It’s very complicated, almost impossible, because you leave out players who could play for any team in the world.
“Today it was Kroos and [Federico] Valverde but they understand that, the squad is in good shape at the moment.
“Valverde has played 20 minutes but he has been decisive with his assists.
“The important thing is not how much they play, but the quality of the minutes.
“It isn’t difficult for me to convince players like Kroos and Modric because they are intelligent and humble.
“They know they are important even if they don’t play. Managing them is the easiest thing I’ve ever had in my career.”
