RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose is set to sign new deal

As reported by Sport Bild, Marco Rose and Leipzig have been in discussions over a new contract for the head coach.

Rose’s current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2024, and the Saxons are hoping to tie the Leipzig native down to a longer contract. It has been reported that both parties have agreed on a two-year extension that will keep Rose in charge until 2026, with an increased salary of €4.5m.

When speaking to Bild about a supposed new deal, Rose would say: “Basically everyone knows that I really like being here,” before commenting on the current situation regarding Leipzig’s squad after many key sales: “But at the moment there are really a few more important issues – namely to set up the squad in such a way that we can achieve our goals.”

Since Rose took charge of Die Roten Bullen after matchday five, no other manager has earned more points than the Leipzig head coach. Therefore, it would not be hard to imagine that if Rose had in fact been in charge of the first five games of the season that Leipzig may have even been crowned Bundesliga champions.

Nevertheless, the phenomenal achievements Rose has managed with Leipzig have not gone unnoticed – such as retaining the DFB-Pokal with his hometown club – and he looks to remain in charge of the club for the foreseeable future. With a few additions, Rose will hope to challenge for the Meisterschale and DFB-Pokal once again.
