RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff has confirmed that Manchester United is interested in signing their striker Christopher Nkunku.
United will be in the market for a striker in the summer with the imminent departure of Edinson Cavani and according to Christian Falk, United tried to sign the 24-year old after Mason Greenwood‘s suspension in January but eventually decided against doing so.
Sportbild has mentioned United as one of the clubs interested in Nkunku with Mintzlaff confirming the same even though they want to keep the Frenchman at the club beyond the summer.
True✅ @ManUtd discussed a Transfer of @c_nk97 in winter when Greenwood was suspended. But the Club decided: no Transfer in Winter. For summer United is searching a real striker. it’s not sure if it needs a player like Nkunku then pic.twitter.com/pgug5b0P4C

“Christopher Nkunku will continue to play with us next season. That’s our plan,” Mintzlaff said.
Nkunku has been in scintillating form this season scoring 19 goals in 31 appearances and his versatility to play in all positions in attack is something said to be attractive to his suitors.
Ralf Rangick is said to be a keen admirer since his days at Leipzig but his club will have to fork out a fee of around €55 million for a player whose contract will be expiring in 2024.
