Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has expressed his delight with how his former players have thrived at Liverpool.
Rangnick has worked with a number of key Liverpool players earlier in their careers with the group including Naby Keita who said the German treated him like ‘his son’ when they worked at Leipzig.
“It’s no coincidence that they’re as good as they are. Six or seven of those players used to be my, or our players when we signed them for our clubs when nobody knew them.
“Again, it is no coincidence that this is probably the club with the highest number of players from our former clubs because their approach, their style of football, the way they want to play is pretty similar,” Rangnick said on his presser ahead of their Tuesday meeting.
Ralf Rangnick: “It’s definitely no coincidence that Klopp has four former players of mine [Firmino, Keita, Mané and Matip) because it shows that he is, in fact, looking for the same kind of players, with the same assets, with the same mentality as we do.” pic.twitter.com/KktOGdk95k

Liverpool thrashed Man United 5-0 at Old Trafford when the two sides last met in October and the meeting on Tuesday will be important for both sides with the hosts looking to dethrone Man City from the top of the league with United doing their all to be in the Champions League next season.
