In a spectacular twist to the saga, Kylian Mbappé (24) is entertaining the possibility of signing a new contract at PSG. L’Équipe broke the news last night that the standoff between the involved parties was no more with Mbappé and the club back on speaking terms. The France’s skipper willingness to bury the hatchet was rewarded with his reintegration into Luis Enrique’s senior squad in training.
PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi reportedly told the players that “Kylian is invested in the club” and is now at the disposal of the Spanish head coach once more. What is even better news for Les Parisiens is that Mbappé reportedly told club officials that he won’t leave on a free next summer. This Sunday, Foot Mercato reports that the Ligue 1 champions and the 24-year-old have entered into talks over a contract renewal with PSG’s all-time record goalscorer open to the idea.
However, it would only be a one-year contract extension, meaning Mbappé would be tied down until 2025 with Les Parisiens. But that’s not all. Foot Mercato understands that Mbappé and PSG may reach a private agreement on a departure clause. The free-scoring forward would leave the French capital next summer – presumably for Real Madrid – whilst handing PSG a hefty transfer fee.
