Manchester City have officially announced the signing of Erling Haaland.
“This is a proud day for me and my family,” Haaland told ManCity.com after completing the move.
“I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons. You can’t help but admire their style of play, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.
“There are so many world-class players in this squad and Pep is one of the greatest managers of all-time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfil my ambitions.
“I want to score goals, win trophies and improve as a footballer and I am confident I can do that here. This is a great move for me and I can’t wait to get started in pre-season.”
The Norwegian striker will earn £375,000-per-week at City, per Fabrizio Romano.

But how does that figure compare to the Premier League’s best strikers? Using Spotrac, as well as other sources, we’ve named the 20 best-paid strikers in England’s top tier, as of June 13, 2022.
Players that are set to leave their club at the end of June have been included.
All figures are provided by Spotrac unless stated.
20. Michail Antonio (West Ham United) – £70,000-a-week
19. Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton) – £72,000-a-week (Per Salary Sport)
18. Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) – £75,000-a-week
17. Fabio Silva (Wolverhampton Wanderers) – £80,000-a-week
16. Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City) – £90,000-a-week
15. Richarlison (Everton) – £90,000-a-week
14. Diogo Jota (Liverpool) – £90,385-a-week
13. Raul Jimenez (Wolverhampton Wanderers) – £100,000-a-week (Per Salary Sport)

7. Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) – £200,000-a-week
=5. Anthony Martial (Manchester United) – £250,000-a-week
=5. Edinson Cavani (Manchester United) – £250,000-a-week

3. Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea) – £325,000-a-week
2. Erling Haaland (Manchester City) – £375,000-a-week
1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United) – £510,000-a-week
So Haaland is now the second best-paid striker in the Premier League.
He earns nearly double what Kane earns at Tottenham, while his wages also eclipse that of Werner and Lukaku’s at Chelsea.
The only player that earns more than Haaland is the legendary Ronaldo.
City are paying Haaland a lot of money but he’ll be worth every penny if he leads the club to Champions League glory in the 2022/23 season.
