Roma start their UEFA Europa League campaign on Thursday, when they host Sheriff in the group stages of the competition.
Jose Mourinho’s side came back on track in their campaign this past weekend, as they picked up a very impressive 7-0 win over Empoli in Serie A. That win came after a three game winless streak at the start of the campaign and they are now slowly recovering.
Both Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku had started in that game against the Azzurri, who saw their manager Paolo Zanetti get sacked about a day after the result. But Dybala-Lukaku pairing impressed, with the Argentine grabbing a brace and the Belgian grabbing his first goal for the Giallorossi.
Mourinho’s side lost the last season’s Europa League final on penalties against Sevilla and while the Giallorossi boss would go on to tell us that he doesn’t believe that they lost, that is very much the case. But Roma will be looking to make sure that they reach at least the final of the competition, backed by the European pedigree of their esteemed boss.
For the Sheriff game, Sky Italia expect Mourinho to make some changes and here is how Roma are expected to line-up:
Svilar; Mancini, Llorente, Ndicka; Karsdorp, Aouar, Cristante, Bove, Zalewski; Lukaku, El Shaarawy
