Eintracht Frankfurt climb to fourth in the Bundesliga with an impressive performance against Daniel Farke’s Borussia Mönchengladbach. Jesper Lindstrøm opened the scoring for the hosts at the Deutsche Bank Park before Éric Junior Dina Ebimbe doubled SGE’s lead. Lindstrøm then added his second on the stroke of half time.
In a game that was all Eintracht Frankfurt, Gladbach struggled. The double-pivot of Julian Weigl and Manu Koné failed to impose themselves on the game whilst Marcus Thuram, although scoring, struggled in the final third. Die Fohlen drop to ninth in the Bundesliga, level points with rivals Cologne.

Manu Koné, 4 – The former Toulouse midfielder was one of Gladbach’s best players last season but has struggled so far under Daniel Farke. The Frenchman was one of Europe’s most progressive players but despite playing in a possession-based system, has been unable to replicate last season’s form.

Marcus Thuram, 5 – On his day, the Frenchman can be unplayable. Has already surpassed his goal tally from last season but is underperforming in his xG this season. Had an excellent opportunity in the first half but Thuram just couldn’t compose himself, but did force Trapp into an excellent save.
Eintracht Frankfurt – 3 (Lindstrøm – 2, Ebimbe)
Kevin Trapp, 7 – Ranked 6 in the 2022 Yashin Trophy, Trapp is arguably Germany’s second best goalkeeper after Manuel Neuer, almost on par with the Bayern Munich stopper. Controls his area, is dominant and an excellent shot stopper.

Randal Kolo Muani, 8 – The Frenchman seems to be at the heart of everything that Eintracht do. Remains SGE’s focal point but Kolo Muani is so much more than that. Drops deep, wants to take players and is a goal threat in the final third. Often initiates the press. Assisted Lindstrøm’s second of the evening.
