Ousmane Dembele is set to make a U-turn and sign a new deal with Laliga giants FC Barcelona.
The Frenchman’s current deal expires next month and he is yet to ink a new deal with the likes of Paris Saint Germain and a host of teams in Europe said to be interested in his services.
While the club hierarchy are already planning for life without the winger, manager Xavi Hernandez is a huge admirer of the player and has handed him games despite his contract situation at the club with the player happy to continue with the club.
Although there are still some poor decisions on the pitch, Dembele has repaid his manager by becoming the joint-leading assist maker in La Liga with Karim Benzema, providing 11 goals.
After today’s meeting with Ousmane Dembélé’s agent Moussa Sissoko, the club is optimistic about reaching an agreement. The parties are slowly getting closer in the negotiations.

According to Sport, Sporting Director Mateu Alemany traveled to Morocco to speak to Dembele’s agent last month and Moussa Sissoko has reciprocated the gesture by returning to Barcelona this week.
The first meeting between the two parties has been positive. Although there is still a distance between the offer and the demands, Dembele has shown a willingness to significantly reduce his salary in order to continue at the club.
