Oliver Glasner takes aim at his Eintracht Frankfurt players: “a question of quality.”

Following Eintracht Frankfurt’s 2-0 defeat against Union Berlin last weekend, eagles boss Oliver Glasner has taken aim at his own players, SportBild reports.

Frankfurt had the chance to close the gap between Union and the Champions League places. However, they are now six points off 4th and eight points off Union.

Glasner showed his frustrations at full-time talking to the media: “I didn’t see much from Union, except that they punished our mistakes. Today we showed Union how you can win without creating a goal chance.”

The head coach continued: “We have many chances that we missed. But you could also play 0-0, but we can’t.”

Speaking on the straightforward nature of Union’s first goal, the 48-year-old coach explained: “It’s a question of quality.”

Glasner continued to explain that this lack of quality, especially in the back line isn’t something new and has been recurring all season.

“I don’t know how to train for quality. It’s not the first time. We have to be honest, palaver doesn’t always help, palaver. The fact is that we always lose our games in the same way,” explained Glasner.

His frustrating conclusion ended with him saying: “In the end we screw it up in the back.”

Frankfurt have time to rest and reflect over the international break. Their first game back on March 31st will be against VfL Bochum who are fighting for survival and who themselves just beat RB Leipzig 1-0 at home.
