AS Monaco have announced that Eliesse Ben Seghir (18) has signed a two-year contract extension, tying him to AS Monaco until 2027.
Ben Seghir burst onto the scene post-World Cup last season, netting a brace against AJ Auxerre before consolidating his place in Philippe Clement’s starting XI. He looked to have the trust of new manager Adi Hütter in pre-season, and with the Austrian opting to play two No.10s, the Diagonale academy product looked set to once again feature prominently.
However, injuries have thus far derailed his season. Having missed the opening matches with a muscular injury, Ben Seghir worked his way back to fitness in October but then suffered an unfortunate shoulder injury, which required surgery. He is expected to return imminently.
Ben Seghir came through Monaco’s prestigious La Diagonale academy. His contract with the Principality club had looked set to expire in the summer of 2025, but he has now signed a two-year extension, which ties him to his formative club until the end of the 2026/27 season.
