Bayern Munich have today announced the contract extension of Arijon Ibrahimović (17) until 2025.
The German youth international trained in the morning before the obligatory photoshoot with Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic. Ibrahimović will now join the professional squad alongside fellow graduates Josip Stanisic, Paul Wanner and Johannes Schenk.
Ibrahimović is still without a competitive game for Bayern Munich but scored in Friday’s 4-4 friendly against RB Salzburg. “I’m very proud and grateful,” said Ibrahimović. “It’s a dream come true for me.”
Ibrahimović joined Bayern’s Campus from FC Nürnberg in 2018 and has scored 17 and created 14 in 29 games for Bayern’s U19s. The young attacking-midfielder has also scored three and assisted four in 10 UEFA U19 games for the Rekordmeister.
Bayern Munich, currently four points clear of Freiburg at the top, resume their Bundesliga campaign against RB Leipzig on Friday night. Leroy Sané is expected to be fit enough after recovering from a recent gastrointestinal infection.
Elsewhere, Bayern are also working on a deal to sign Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Yann Sommer (34), but the Bavarian club has already seen a second offer rejected for the Swiss goalkeeper.
