Nottingham Forest chief Filippo Giraldi is enjoying his job at the City Ground.
Giraldi discussed the differences between the Premier League and Serie A on RadioFirenzeViola.
He said, “With the job you can recover the gap between Serie A and Premier League. The pressures are always there, even in England it is very high.
“What I see is that the preparation for the game is very different and how you train. There are many coaches in Italy who are doing this like Gasperini and Spalletti.
“It is also a fact of how the game is managed: in England it whistles less, even in training. The intensity is higher and the ball is always on the move.”
Asked what it takes to be a Premier League player, Giraldi was very clear.
“It means having a habit of giving less importance to what is extra field and focusing more on the field. In Italy we go a little behind this continuous search for an alibi. We have to work on what we can improve, go beyond sacrifice.
“It is no coincidence that lately the players who arrive from the Premier in Italy adapt very quickly. Those who make the reverse path need more time to set. I don’t see the Premier as a paradise and Italy not, but here any team can buy important players and this raises the general level a lot.”
