Luis Campos and Luis Enrique have held talks with Neymar (31), Marco Verratti (30), Hugo Ekitiké (21), Renato Sanches (25) and Juan Bernat (30) on Wednesday morning. The aforementioned players have been informed that they are surplus to requirements and should find new clubs, according to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.
The players have been told that they should leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Neymar wants to leave Les Parisiens this summer, and whilst there are ongoing discussions with Chelsea, a deal will prove difficult due to the Brazilian’s wage demands. The list of clubs able to pull off a move is therefore short.
Verratti has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, however, no club are yet to meet PSG’s reportedly hefty €80m price tag. It is thought that a deal could be done for around €60m.
Ekitiké has failed to settle at PSG since his move last summer, scoring just four Ligue 1 goals in the last domestic campaign. Everton have reportedly submitted a verbal offer for the French forward, thought to be worth €40m, including bonuses, according to Sports Zone. Les Parisiens are reportedly attempting to use Ekitiké as a makeweight in a deal to sign Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Bernat has been on the fringes of the PSG side, and his departure was expected this year, whilst Sanches, who had an injury-hit debut season with the Parisian side, is reportedly garnering interest from Serie A.
All of the players who met with Campos and Enrique this morning were excluded from the traditional LFP photo session – a strong indication that they no longer feature in the plans of the Ligue 1 champions. Neymar and Verratti did not train with the group and instead did gym work.
