‘Next season, we’ll have a better team’ – Luis Enrique believes PSG will be stronger despite expected Kylian Mbappé departure

Luis Enrique has assured that Paris Saint-Germain will have a “better team” next season, despite the expected departure of talisman Kylian Mbappé (25).

The superstar period looks set to come to an end at PSG this summer. After the departures of Lionel Messi and Neymar last summer, Mbappé is expected to be the last of the ‘MNM’ to leave. The France captain has reportedly already informed PSG of his decision to leave upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season ahead of an expected move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.

PSG planning to rejuvenate squad

However, regardless of the uncertainty surrounding Mbappé’s future, Luis Enrique believes he will have a stronger hand next campaign. “I know that if everything goes well, next season, we will have a better team from all perspectives: offensively, defensively, tactically. I have no doubt about it,” said the Spaniard during a press conference on Thursday.

As reported by RMC Sport on Wednesday, Les Parisiens are already preparing for life without Mbappé. A high-quality centre-back is expected to arrive at the Parc des Princes, with Lille OSC’s Leny Yoro heavily linked. PSG have also been linked with a move for a holding midfielder and an elite forward.
