Newcastle United is set to bid for Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen in the summer.
The player has been linked with a move to the Premier League before with Manchester United said to have enquired about his availability previously only to be rebuffed by the player whose brother claimed he couldn’t move out of respect for Odion Ighalo.
CalcioMercato now reports that Newcastle has been looking to sign Osimhen since January and has offered the player an annual wage of between €8-9m, which equates to roughly €150,000-175,000 weekly.
Victor Osimhen’s brother Andrew: “It is very true that #mufc wanted Victor but he told me something like he had too much respect for Odion Ighalo to be competing for shirts with his senior colleague.” #mulive [@CompleteSports]

The player is one of the hottest properties in the market right now and has been on an upward trajectory since his €70-80m move from Lille. This season, he has contributed to 17 goals and six assists in 29 games in all appearances.
But Napoli won’t let the player leave easily with the reports indicating that it will take a nine-figure fee to get the player from Napoli, a fee that could potentially be a Premier League record but with a new owner, the Magpies believe they can get their target.
