New Austria coach Ralf Rangnick was pleased with their 3-0 thrashing of Croatia on Friday night.
The 63-year-old enjoyed a dream debut as an international manager as he oversaw a comprehensive away victory in their Nations League opener.
Rangnick experienced a turbulent time during his reign as Manchester United manager, but appears to have quickly put it behind him with an immediate impact in his new role.
Goals from Marko Arnautovic, Michael Gregoritsch and Marcel Sabitzer earned a comfortable win as Austria brushed aside the 2018 World Cup finalists in Osijek.
“We had problems in the first 25 minutes, but getting the lead just before the break did us good,” Rangnick said after the win. “In the second half we played really well and scored two wonderful goals.
“We could even have scored more. I am very satisfied.”
