AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho is worried by the lack of many Serie A teams in the knockout stages of European competitions.
Roma in the Conference League and Atalanta in the Europa League are Serie A’s only representatives and according to the Portuguese, he feels disappointed about the situation.
“It’s disappointing, I wish other Italian clubs were doing well in Europe. It’d certainly help us if Inter and Napoli were to have European competition to think about too,” Mourinho said.
The former Inter boss admitted that he is eager to win the European Conference League, where Roma are considered the frontrunners by the bookmakers. The Giallorossi are in the midst of a 14-year drought and Mourinho wants to end it and lift his 25th trophy.

The new competition has just been established, so Mourinho will have the opportunity to be the first-ever gaffer to win the top four continental cups.
It has been rare for Roma bosses to be successful in their first year at the helm, even for the great ones. Nils Liedholm, Fabio Capello and Luciano Spalletti did not manage.
