Speaking ahead of AS Monaco’s Ligue 1 tie against Stade de Reims, manager Philippe Clement confirmed that Vanderson (21) and Guillermo Maripán (28) are set to make their long-awaited returns.
Get French Football News attended training at Les Monégasques performance centre in La Turbie on Friday and can confirm the presence of Vanderson and Maripán in first-team training. However, the former did have strapping around his left knee.
Vanderson missed almost all of February after a seemingly minor injury against AJ Auxerre, whilst Maripán missed some key clashes after sustaining an injury in the club’s Europa League first leg against Bayer Leverkusen.
Speaking in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News, Clement said that both had participated in collective training and are therefore in contention to face Reims on Sunday. Mohamed Camara, who missed last weekend’s draw against ESTAC Troyes participated in collective training but is a doubt. The Malian international will undergo tests to ascertain his fitness on Saturday.
Clement also confirmed that Kevin Volland, who was injured in a collision with Adil Rami last weekend, will be out injured for several weeks.
