AS Monaco are “worried” about an injury suffered by midfielder Mohamed Camara (24) during Sunday’s 2-1 defeat against Toulouse FC.
The Malian international suffered the injury in the 19th minute, and despite continuing for another five minutes, he was ultimately replaced by Mamadou Coulibaly, who made his Ligue 1 debut for Les Monégasques.
The signs are worrying and the images certainly suggest a severe injury. Broadcaster Prime Video Sport believe that Camara’s knee ligaments are affected. Monaco have already suffered two ACL injuries this season. Breel Embolo and Caio Henrique have been out for several months and both are in a race to feature again before the end of the season.
Post-match, manager Adi Hütter couldn’t specify the nature of the injury, however, the Austrian did nonetheless express “concern” for the Malian international. Hütter added that Camara would undergo further tests on Monday in order to ascertain the severity of the injury.
